SISTINE
CHAPEL
Visual content for the first Sistine Chapel immersive exhibition sanctioned by the Vatican Museums. From the world premiere at Warsaw's national stadium to the Americas Tour launch in Austin, Texas.
THE CHALLENGE
Bringing Michelangelo's masterpieces out of the Vatican — for the first time in history in an immersive format — with one non-negotiable constraint: philological fidelity. Not a free interpretation, but a reproduction able to withstand the gaze of those who truly know the Sistine Chapel, starting with the Vatican Museums, who sanctioned the project.
The raw material: an unprecedented photographic campaign conducted inside the Chapel — over 4 million images captured across 65 nights of work — enabling a reproduction faithful down to the single brushstroke.
OUR ROLE
Sublime Tecnologico produced the visual content of the immersive experience: transforming the ultra-high-resolution photographic material into animated visual storytelling, calibrated for architectural-scale multi-projection and the exhibition's LED walls.
Digital craftsmanship applied to Michelangelo's brushstrokes: colour grading faithful to the original, animation respectful of the composition, and visual direction designed for a hall that reproduces the Chapel's floor plan at full scale.
THE TOUR
November 2023 — Warsaw. World premiere as "Kaplica Sykstyńska. Dziedzictwo" at PGE Narodowy, Poland's national stadium. Record attendance from the very first weeks.
2024 — Kraków and Częstochowa. The exhibition moves to Poland's landmark cities, including Jasna Góra, the country's most visited shrine. Flagship stops exceed 150,000 admissions.
2025 — Austin, Texas. "The Sistine Chapel Experience" launches the Americas Tour: 25,000 square feet, over 50 projectors, three immersive galleries with a full-scale reproduction of the Chapel. Eighty thousand tickets in the first three months, weekends regularly sold out and an extended run: the tour is heading towards a quarter of a million total visitors.
